Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and collaborative Product Manager to join our fast-growing property management startup's technical team in Malaysia.
As the Product Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders, the tech lead, QA, and development team to define product goals, document requirements, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact features.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Planning & Strategy
- Define product vision, goals, and roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Prioritize product backlog items based on business value, user impact, and technical feasibility.
2. Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Engage with internal stakeholders (senior management, customer success, etc.) to gather requirements and align on product direction.
- Communicate roadmap updates, feature releases, and product changes clearly to all relevant parties.
- Collaborate with the tech lead and QA to refine backlog items and ensure quality standards are met.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with the development team to clarify requirements, address blockers, and maintain a smooth development workflow.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with product goals.
- Coordinate with designers (UI/UX) to ensure product features meet user-centric design principles.
4. Documentation & Process Management
- Document product requirements, specifications, and changes to keep the team aligned.
- Maintain an organized product backlog with clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority levels.
- Provide continuous product status updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
5. User-Centric Focus & Feedback
- Collect user feedback and analyze user data to identify improvement areas and validate product hypotheses.
- Advocate for user needs while balancing technical constraints and business objectives.
6. Fast-Paced Environment Adaptability
- Thrive in a startup environment by quickly adapting to changing requirements and market demands.
- Exhibit proactiveness, resilience, and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Qualifications
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2. Experience
- 1–3+ years of Product Management or related experience in software development (startup experience is a plus).
3. Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
Preferred Experience
- Technical Background: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering and/or experience working with software development teams.
- Experience with ClickUp or other similar project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Asana) and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Notion).
- Experience with UI tools like Figma
- Understanding of property management or real estate industry is a plus.
