Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, creative and versatile UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic property management startup's technical team in Malaysia.
You will be overseeing the entire interface design of our software applications, ensuring seamless user experiences and visually appealing solutions tailored for our predominantly American user base. Strong user experience design skills and a deep understanding of American design preferences and culture are crucial to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. User Research & Analysis
- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability tests with a focus on American user behaviors and expectations.
- Translate findings into actionable insights for design improvements.
2. UI/UX Strategy & Design
- Define and implement design standards, style guides, and design systems for web and mobile platforms.
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Ensure all designs adhere to user-centric, accessible, and brand-consistent principles.
3. Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align on project goals.
- Provide detailed design handoffs and collaborate with the development team to ensure high-fidelity implementation.
4. Design Validation & Iteration
- Conduct usability tests and A/B tests to validate designs and gather feedback.
- Analyze user behavior and usage data, refining designs to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
- Stay updated on UI/UX trends, particularly for the U.S. market in property management.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Champion user experience best practices within the organization.
- Proactively suggest design enhancements to improve onboarding, navigation, and overall user flows.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer success teams to maintain consistent branding.
Qualifications
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
2. Experience
- Preferred: 2-4 years of professional UI/UX design experience.
- Open to fresh graduates (or equivalent project/internship experience) with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant design work.
3. Technical Skills
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Canva, Adobe XD).
- Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles.
- Familiarity with usability testing, user research, and prototyping methods.
4. Cultural Insight
- Ability to design for American users, with prior exposure to U.S.-based projects or audiences.
5. Communication & Collaboration
- Effective communication skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Comfort working in an agile or startup environment.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to property management or real estate software design.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or front-end frameworks (e.g., React) to facilitate developer handoffs.
- Experience with Webflow
- Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) for U.S.-focused user experiences.
- Experience with design systems or component-based design.
